Once in a while it's just pure fun to peak inside other people's lives. In Una Voce, author Jennifer Larmore offers a look into her life and into the lives of opera singers, their thoughts, their struggles and their feelings. She narrates the story of her journey and working in the industry for almost thirty years.sUna voce presents a study of people who conquer fear and insecurity to stand on a stage and bear their hearts and souls. It touches on why they do it, how they do it, and what it is that keeps them working and singing.
This book was something that came about organically for me. Besides performing, my passions are teaching and giving master classes. At the end of each class I have a question & answer period where the singers can ask whatever they want! Singers are some of the most vulnerable people on the planet and we are filled to the brim with questions. This book grew out of my desire to find answers. I wrote it off the top of my head, in between rehearsals, after a performance, on the train, in a hotel and it became a sort of conversation between me and the reader.
